Finally.

The Global Internet Summit in Penang winds down on its last day on April 12, 2009 Sunday.

We woke up early this time. I just couldn’t sleep too long. Once the alarm rang, I was almost springing myself out of bed to prepare. I showered, dressed, and drove the 10-minute ride to town where Evergreen Laurel Hotel is.

Breakfast was a bit rushed and we only ate sweet potatoes on the way. At the seminar, I was totally blissed that coffee was present. I took a few cups…and everything was right with the world. :D

The Price of Doing Business in Internet Marketing - Day 3

I’d say Day 3 had a good run and closure. There were two bonus lectures from speakers who weren’t topbilled for the event, but believe me, they have the right to be there.

Runthrough

Andy Hun opened once more and educated us on how you can register a domain name.

Following Andy was Vince Tan, the JV Guru Mind Control Master, who lectured on how important it was to leverage the resources and power of joint venture partnerships. He stressed the importance of making an offering irresistible to refuse to promote his products.

A moment with Benjamin Marc Wee and me

Just before lunch, I ran into Benjamin Marc Wee as I was coming from the boy’s room. I was getting a cup of water when I spotted him smoking.

I don’t know why I did it, I took it upon myself to walk over and introduce myself to him. I wanted to tell him I thought his presentation was the best I saw among all the lectures. I told him he was like a buddha, and he imperceptibly smiled.

I had a full 15 minutes with him. It was like speaking to an old master. Maybe I’ll write about what we spoke about. Then I excused myself.

Lunch was wonderful, me, my girlfriend and my friend Jacky ate at the Zealand Cafe. The Bak Kut Teh was awesome. Too bad I didn’t even have the time to shoot a snap.

Last to lecture was Benjamin Teo, the Social Media Marketing Expert. Everything he said was a confirmation of what I knew about social media marketing and more! I learned some more in bits and pieces.

Surprise!

Well, not really a surprise. WE heard rumors flying that Patric Chan was invited to have a short talk. And he did deliver his lecture in a fast and info-packed format. The 30-minute lecture was not enough to satisfay everyone’s hunger.

The CEO

Even less of a secret was the presence of Success Resources CEO, Mr. Richard Tan.

And he graced us the secrets of his success!

Success Resources CEO, Mr. Richard Tan

Richard is a funny man.

A seasoned presenter and showman, Richard spoke about how he brought himself up from deep debt to breakeven in 1 day with the advice of Jay Abraham.

He spoke about the difference between making money and having a passion and when sometimes they do not converge. A passion doesn’t necessarily mean that there is a market. He is a firm beliver that there then should be a firm delineation between passion and doing business.

He related the time when he had a chat with Robert Kiyosaki who asked him if he would like to make $100M USD. When Richard said yes, Robert asked if he has a plan to make that much money, when Richard said no, Robert said those fateful words that launched him to his current economic level: “Then you have a problem.”

And the rest, is history.

Commitments

At the end of the lecture, he brought all the speakers forward and he encouraged everyone to make a speech.

We actually put it on video, as of now it’s not ready.

I’ll get it to you in another post after I put it up in Youtube.

In a nutshell, all the participants were encouraged to take that faithful step forward and take control of their financial destiny.

On that fateful moment, I stood up and committed myself even more to this wonderful world. :)

PS - I’ll be covering more events as they happen in Penang and at times KL in matters of internet marketing. So make sure you stay current by using my RSS Feed, following me on Twitter. or subscribe to my email subscription above left. :)
