Hey Friends, It’s Day 1 of the Global Internet Summit in Penang at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel.

Let me tell you something. The Subway Deli sandwiches from around the corner are to die for. Get it. It comes in limited quantities in the mornings. A perfect way to start the day. :)

The Global Internet Summit at Evergreen was smaller than I expected. There’s only about 200 participants at the seminar but the lecturers are delivering some value to the event.

For today, the speakers were: Edmund Loh, Alvin Phang and Jaz Lai (Got the pics too!).

Hard Times

In a nutshell, all of the speakers spoke about how hardship or difficilty in family situations or health has prompted them to find an alternate means to get passive income from alternative means.

Edmund had financial difficulties at a young age, he had to move several times to settle in Johor Bahru and had to eat survival-level food for months. An accident in the family, left Alvin the sole breadwinner in the family, and Jaz was diagnosed with a heart condition. Out of adversity comes courage for these men.

Success In Less Than 5 Years

It’s astonishing to note as well that these gentlemen (no women super marketers at this event yet) managed to become a success in less than 5 years. In fact the fastest I saw was Edmund, who managed to do it in 2 years from my recollection.

Specialty

Also of note was that each became a specialist according to the circumstances they were presented.

Edmund chose marketing PLR, Alvin chose blogs and Jaz spent his time marketing using email and list building strategies.

From what I understand it’s not all about what you’re passionate about. It’s also about what opportunity was presented to you at the time.

Pictures!
