Getting Your Time Zones On Time
Hi All,
In this post, I’m going to talk about how to get the correct time zone so you won’t miss a single second of a meeting in your life forever!
I have noticed during our calls that some people get confused about what time our meetings will be held. Not a surprise since people make it really complicated by using Daylight Savings Time! To make matters worse, each region uses it at different dates!
As I’ve stated with tech, I like simple solutions, I found several very simple solutions for you.
Here are several solutions which you can use individually and in tandem…
The World Clock Meeting Planner
This nifty online tool has helped me clear the air about cross regional cities that saved my life so many times!
It’s called The World Clock Meeting Planner and you can access the site from here.
Once you open the site, you will see several drop-down boxes on the lower left.
All you have to do is pick the time zone of the meeting and the city you reside in. If you don’t have your city listed, pick the nearest major city nearest you and click “Show Timetable.”
The next page will display a table that shows the timetable of both the meeting location and your city.
All you have to do now is to match the meeting time with your city’s time to find the correct time you need. And yes, it take into account Daylight Savings Time.
The color coding will make it easy for you to see whether the times will be within or outside office hours.
This by far has been the easiest tool for me to use aside from appointments made on my Outlook.
Configuring Your Outlook
If you have Outlook on your computer, it is also a simple matter to do the following settings:
Go to Outlook>Click on the Calendar Bar>Right Click on the Time Bar
Click on “Change Time Zone”
Put a check on “Show Additional time Zone” to your Calendar. Click “Ok”
After which you’ll see another bar with a different time zone side by side your local time.
Hope this has been helpful!
Regards,
Erwin

I have just tweeted you, I’m still only just getting familiar with Twitter though, so I’m not actually sure if you’ve received my tweet. Would you be able to do me a huge favour and let me know if you have/haven’t? Cheers

Hi Erwin,
Thanks for your comments on my blog, I’ve added your blog link to my blogroll and I hope you’ll do the same for me. I’m enjoying reading the info on your blog, you’ve done a great job setting it up.
Question, how to you get your posts to lengthen by clicking a link, is that a plug-in that I can get from WordPress? I’ve seen it on many blogs and I like the way it saves space especially when there are long posts involved. I also appreciate the extent you went to, to tell us about the time zone issue, I’d heard many people struggling with that on our coaching calls, it’s not been a problem for me since I’m in Georgia, Eastern time zone.
Have a very blessed and Merry Christmas,
Kevin

Hello Erwin,
Hey great advice on time zones and info in outlook thanks.
I feel I am missing out on a lot of things in Alex’s coaching such as live questions and answers and the brain storming due to my work schedule.
I do listen to the recordings once they are posted but usually takes about two days. In fact I just finished listening to module #4. It is now 12:30 am I’m tired and need to head for bed were as morning comes quick.
I added you to my blog roll on my site. Talk to ya soon take care and God Bless.

Hi Mark,
Personally, I think you have to be present at the actual webinar to make sure you get the most out of the training. Recordings don’t have that sense of urgency like when you are up at 4am in the morning during the brainstorming.
Since I can relate to only myself, I’m up because I don’t want to miss out on the energy the class has, and I’m scared I’ll miss something. It’s the osmosis factor that you never know what’s going to hit you unless you’re there.

Hello Erwin:
First thanks for the great comment on my blog. I added you to my student blog roll. This Brainstorming session has been absolutely fabulous. I appreciate your comment in the session about your tech experience. I certainly would appreciate some help as I go forward. It is becoming apparent to me that spending 4 or 5 hours trying to learn how to install a plugin or some widget on wordpress is a total waste.
So my first question is do you have a twitter plugin recommendation?
Second, how do you capture the screen shots on traffic and how do you upload that to your post?
I hope my questions aren’t too basic but it’s a pretty big learning curve for me.
Thanks
Daniel

Hey Daniel,
Thank you for your kind words.
If you’re using Wordpress, I recommend the Twitter Tools plugin. This will put your tweets on the sidebar as you update.
If you’re using Firefox, to save yourself time, download the TwitterFox Add-on.
Now, if you want to get a screenshot, press the PrintScreen button and paste the shot on the Paint tool, if you’re using Windows. From there you can crop the screen shot you took.
Hope this helps.

Hi Erwin,
During today’s Brainstorm session you offered tech support for those of us who might need it.
Where can we post a request for this, since I have a tech-question
I could not find any other way to post a comment other than replying to a posting

Erwin
Thanks for the great tip on twitter. I’m adding the firefox plugin, iphone plugin and the twitter tools plugin.
I also appreciate your comment on the screen shot. It really helps.
If you have a moment could you go over to my blog at http://d-marketingonline.com and take a look at the new page I added? It’s called “free profit pulling blueprint”. The page itself works great and all links are working. But in the header, the page title isn’t displaying correctly. Any ideas on how to solve it?
Thanks
Daniel

Hi Bill!
Merry Christmas!
For now the fastest way is to leave me a private message on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/waywalker0101) or to leave a comment on my blog.
Otherwise, I have to find a way to make it easier for the Fortunate 500 to ask me a question.
Stay tuned.
All the best!

Hi Daniel,
I’ve looked at the html coding on your blog. It seems to me its the settings on the theme. Try temporarily changing themes and see if the issue follows.
Let me know what happens.
